It was brutal hot and humid yesterday in Baytown with the temperature at 98 degrees and the DA was around 3,000 so "not good" for drag racing. However, the trip was well worth it and Mike Franks made some good "connections" for the Cadillac V-Club and my Comp Turbos performed flawlessly. He definitely had the fastest V at the event.
He kept the boost around 20-22lbs but simply could not stop the tires from spinning as soon as the boost fully ramped in. Ran several 9.8's at 147mph and one 9.5 at 150mph. Never could get the car to build boost and launch hard on the two step controller.. actually had more success launching using the footbrake without the two step controller but even then was only able to build about 8 lbs of boost at launch. Best 60ft was 1.65 seconds.
The 9.5 E/T was not my personal best as Mike have previously hit 9.2 at 154 with much better conditions on my previous engine build. When the weather cools off, Mike will make an attempt at a high 8 second pass and the car has the power to accomplish that objective.
High Tech Corvette live streamed the event and gave my V lots of air time.. Check out this video of my V and tow rig at 7:00 seconds into the video.
